Atiya Sheikh Named a Mosaic Hero
Atiya Sheikh, Business Psychologist, Executive Coach and Director of inemmo, was named a Mosaic Hero in recognition of her exceptional commitment to mentoring and inspiring young people.
Atiya works strategically with organisations and their leaders to strengthen management and leadership capability, align people development with organisational goals and support meaningful change through people.
Supporting young adults is also an important part of her work. She has contributed extensively to mentoring and leadership development programmes in the UK and overseas, helping young people build the confidence, skills and mindset needed to succeed at university, in business and in life.
Over an 18-month period, Atiya volunteered as a mentor across Mosaic’s Primary School Programme, Secondary School Programme, Enterprise Challenge and International Programme.
The Mosaic Hero recognition celebrated her outstanding commitment to these programmes, her dedication to the young people she supported and the inspirational example she set through her mentoring.
How did you feel about being named a Mosaic Hero?
“It was an honour and a privilege to be part of the Mosaic programme, and an even greater honour to be recognised in this way.”
Which schools did you support?
“I mentored on the Primary School Programme at Bygrove Primary School, the Secondary School Programme at Sir John Cass, and the Enterprise Challenge at King Solomon.”
What motivated you to become a mentor?
“I was particularly inspired by Mosaic’s commitment to raising the aspirations of young girls and empowering mothers to support their daughters.
“Few things could be more rewarding than helping young people recognise their potential, take greater responsibility for their futures and develop the interpersonal skills and confidence they need to achieve their ambitions.
“Mentoring offers an opportunity to help young people become the capable, confident individuals they aspire to be. It was a privilege to play a part in their journey.”
This recognition reflects Atiya’s longstanding commitment to opening opportunities for young people and helping them see what is possible for their futures.
